She was born in Norton, Kansas on February 29, 1932 to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest and Edna Markham. She married Marvin Eugene Miles on December 26, 1954 in Edmond, Kansas.
She loved sewing, cooking, gardening and working on genealogy. She was also a strong supporter of education. She played the organ in church. She was a school teacher in her earlier years. She attended Fort Hays Kansas State College and as a mature student attended El Centro Community College in Dallas. Prior to her retirement she was a medical secretary at UT Southwestern in Dallas.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet Leslie Miles of Lubbock and Anna Lee Wilson Davis and her husband J.D. of Post; one granddaughter, Briann Nicole Wilson and four great-grandchildren; Tristen Lochlan Knox, Blake Shelton Hearn, Jessica Leslie Hearn and Mykala Hearn. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Marvin Miles, in 1986, her brother, Amos Edward "Bud" Markham, and her parents.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 4:00 PM at Resthaven’s Mausoleum Chapel.
