Lee Ann Medley, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and faithful follower of Christ, entered her eternal home after a life beautifully lived in service to God and those she loved. She was born on May 26, 1949, in Lubbock, Texas, to Nina and R.D. Barnett, who instilled in her the values of faith, kindness, hard work, and unconditional love that would guide her throughout her life.
On April 8, 1972, Lee Ann married the love of her life, Donnie Neil Medley. Together they shared a marriage built on love, faith, commitment, and devotion. Through the years they created a home filled with laughter, compassion, and cherished memories while raising their two children, Krystal and Kevin, who were among her greatest blessings.
For more than 30 years, Lee Ann faithfully served as a teacher, touching the lives of countless students with her patience, encouragement, and genuine love for learning. Teaching was more than a profession—it was her calling. She believed every child deserved to be seen, supported, and inspired, and the lessons she taught reached far beyond the classroom. Her influence will continue to live on in the many students whose lives she helped shape.
Lee Ann’s love for her family only grew as the next generation arrived. She was a proud and loving grandmother whose greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. She treasured every opportunity to celebrate their milestones, encourage their dreams, and simply enjoy being together.
She also had a special place in her heart for her two loyal dogs, Rex and Dos, whose companionship brought her comfort, laughter, and unconditional love. They were treasured members of the family and brought her joy every day.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Krystal Jones, and her husband, Matthew, and their son, Barett Jones; her son, Kevin Medley, and his wife, Sallie, and their children, Memphis, Walker, and Tilden Medley; her husband of more than five decades, Donnie Neil Medley; and her brother, Danny Barnett. She also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and a church family who were blessed by her faithful example and loving heart.
Lee Ann was a devoted member of Turning Point, where her faith was evident in the way she lived each day. She loved the Lord wholeheartedly and sought to reflect His love through acts of kindness, generosity, and compassion. Whether offering a listening ear, lending a helping hand, or faithfully praying for others, Lee Ann made everyone she met feel valued and loved.
Those who knew Lee Ann will remember her joyful smile, gentle spirit, unwavering faith, generous heart, and deep love for her family. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcome and cared for. Her strength, grace, and quiet encouragement left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She found her greatest purpose in caring for those she loved and considered her family to be God’s greatest gift.
Although her family grieves the loss of her presence, they find comfort in knowing that her faith has become sight and that she now rests in the presence of her Savior. Her legacy of love, faith, generosity, and kindness will continue through the lives of her children, grandchildren, family, former students, and all who were touched by her example.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lee Ann’s life at a gathering on Tuesday, July 21, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel, 6025 82nd Street, Lubbock, Texas.
Lee Ann’s life was a testament to the power of faith, the importance of family, and the beauty of living with a joyful, generous heart. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished until the day her family is reunited with her.
