On February 17, 2021, Linda Joyce Laird Edwards, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother went to be with her heavenly father. She was born on February 12, 1939 to Gaston and Jewell Laird.

Linda was born and raised in Lubbock and lived in Shallowater for the past 37 years. She graduated from Lubbock High School and worked at Grinnell Manufacturing- Tyco for 28 years and retired in 2000. She was married to the love of her life, Troy Edwards, for over 51 years.

She loved her family and friends, country and gospel music, dancing, gardening, and was serious about playing family poker! She was also an avid sports fan. I count myself blessed to have met Linda way back in 1992 before Shannon and I married. Linda was one of the kindest souls you would ever wish to meet. She and her husband Troy quickly became family to me as soon as I met them. We always looked forward to the annual summer trip they would make from Texas to see their Arkansas family as they called it. Due to health conditions she hadn’t been able to make the trip in awhile and we missed her every single summer. I could call Linda anytime about anything and she would gladly listen and be happy to spend an hour on the phone catching up. She never missed one time asking about each of the kids and grands when she would call us. Linda loved her family and she was very proud of them. She will be greatly missed by her family and everyone who had the honor of knowing her. We love you Linda and look forward to seeing you again someday in Heaven!
