

He joined the Marines on his 17th birthday and while a member of the 4th Division was in service on Iowa Jima, during the historic raising of the flag, earning 4 battle stars. He was mustered out of the service on November 25th 1945.
He married Lee (Hancock) Moore on December 11th, 1946. He was retired from a career in agricultural production, second only to his love for his wife, Lee.
He is survived by his wife and children: Yuonna Carter (John), Gid Moore, Debe' Piatak (Pete). Grandkids: Nicholas Moore, Shane Schweda, Brian Piatak, Jared Carter & Cara Sechser. He is preceded in death by son, Kenzel, parents Lit and Dora Moore, brothers: Kay, Jay and Medford Moore, as well as 2 sisters and 1 brother deceased in early childhood.
Lit willed his body to Texas Tech Health Science Center. He was a member of New Home Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Methodist Children's Home, 1111 Herring Ave. Waco, Texas 76708, or memorial of your choice.
