

A celebration of life for Lois Bernice Alexander Chambers Turpin will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011 at Slaton’s Hearts Together Church of Christ on Division at 10:00A.M. Family and friends are invited to Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock to view on Thursday from 6:00P.M. to 8:00P.M. Lois died on December 12, 2011, surrounded by her family.
She was born on Thursday, April 15, 1920 West of Newlin, TX to Charlie and Maude Harper Alexander. She was the 4th of 5 girls.
Lois attended Sudan Schools and graduated from Isabell School of Beauty, after graduation, she worked for Jesse James Beauty Shop.
She met Othel Brooks Chambers and they were married on October 9, 1943. They moved to California, while there, Lois worked for U.S. Steel. After Othel’s death, she later married Horace Turpin.
Survivors include; daughters Anita Sue King of Slaton and Lois Adelia Downs and her husband Buddy of Magnolia, 4 grand-children; Shane (Pam) King of Slaton, Patricia Vinson of Slaton, DeAnn (Britt) Logan of North Richland Hills, and Wyletta (Micheal) Ezzelle of Tomball, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband’s Othel Chambers, and Horace Turpin, 4 sisters; Eva Spruill, Edith Williams, Ethel Beale, and Lillian Cook.
