Lola Lee Roan

Lola Roan, 91, went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2013. Lola was born June 26, 1921 to Hugh and Edith Longino in Wellington, Texas. Lola was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife as well as a talented seamstress, homemaker, and volunteer. She was the recipient of the Disciples of Christ Christian Church’s Disciple Emeritus award in 2000. Besides being with family and friends, Lola enjoyed dancing, playing jokes on others, and chocolate.

Lola married Robert Roark in 1940; he died in 1955. In 1962, she married J.J. Roan, Jr.

She is survived by sons, Robert (Lonnie) Roark and Don Roark and wife, Billie, of Lubbock, Texas, and daughter, Linda Roan-Yager and husband, Mark of Boulder, Colorado, daughter-in-law, Becky Roark of Lubbock, Texas as well as eleven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Lola was preceded in death by beloved daughter, Mary Ann Roark Rogers and son, John Roark.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, at Restahaven’s Abbey Chapel with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
