

He was born in Gillespie County, April 10, 1916, to John and Martha Deering.
He is survived by four children , Charlotte Joyce of New Braunfels, Loren Jr. and Ann Deering of Kingsland, Travis Deering of Lake Buchanan , and Vicki Cope of Houston, Texas.He is survived by 10 beautiful grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.He is also survived by one sister Lera Mcknoghen of Arizona.
Mr. Deering served his country in the Army during WWII.He was a POW in Germany and was awarded two Bronze stars.
He was employed by Western Toms Sales for 20 years and won many sales awards.Mr Deering lived in Ralls, Texas for, 20 years,where he was member of the First Baptist Church and served as the superintendent of the Sunday school classes.
After retiring , he moved to Breckenridge, Texas where he lived the last 22 years.He enjoyed C&W dancing with his partner, Miss Billie Harris, and enjoyed playing bingo , dominoes, and traveling with Miss Billie to Branson, Mo.
His gift of "GAB" will me missed by all who knew and loved him.He was preceded in death by his wife Katherine Dement Deering.
The family would like to thank all of his dear friends who gave love and support during this difficult time.
Funeral services will be held Thursday , Dec.27, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock.The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m on Wednesday, Dec.26, at Resthaven.
In lieu of flowers , donations can be made to the American Heart Association or charity of choice.
