Lorenzo M Revilla Jr , age 62, passed away peacefully at his home in Shallowater, Texas on September 16, 2018. He was born on August 8, 1956 in Caldwell, Texas to the late Lorenzo Revilla, Sr. and Cayetana Revilla. Lorenzo, lovingly called Junior by family, attended Shallowater High School and then after enlisted in the United States Army in April of 1975.
He was stationed in Germany as an Armor Recon Specialist in 1976. After his Honorable Discharge from the Army and his return to Lubbock, Texas, he met Janie Manzanales in 1978. They were later married on November 27th, 1979. Together they had three children Gabriel Luis Revilla, Elijah Lorenzo Revilla, and Felicia Marie Revilla.
He started working in Irrigation at Hi-Plains Drilling in Abernathy, Texas in 1986 and later moved to Wolf Irrigation and continued working until he semi-retired from the profession in 2006.
He is proceeded in death by both his parents, his brothers Fabian Revilla, Lupe Revilla, Johnny Revilla, and Nash Revilla, and his sisters Mary Rodriquez and Emelia Maldonado.
Junior is survived by his wife of 39 years, Janie and children Gabe, Felicia, Eli and wife, Brittany Revilla; siblings, Encarnico Flores of Mercedes, Tx, Rosa and husband, Domingo Sanchez, Alice Lucio, Bonnie Rodriquez, Estella Revilla, Helen Castro, David and Sarah Revilla, and Daniel and Annabel Revilla, all of Lubbock, Tx; three grandchildren, Aubree Michelle Gutierrez, Lillian Grace and Luke Alexander Revilla.
Rosary services will be held at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel on Thursday, September 20th at 7:00pm in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral mass will be Friday, September 21st at 10:00am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 5802 22nd St., Lubbock, Texas with Father George Roney officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery.
