

Loretta is survived by her beloved children: Ron Karr, Jennifer Kooy, Don Armstrong, Terry Malavakis, Steve Armstrong… their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the center of her life and her greatest joy. She is also survived by her youngest brother Larry Deen of Lubbock, TX.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents C.B.Waide and Janie Waide Deen, Husbands Richard Karr and Donald Armstrong Jr, and her siblings James Waide, Sylvia Allen, C.B. Waide and Connie Allen.
Loretta was a woman known for her beauty, elegance and kindness… qualities that extended far beyond appearances and were reflected in the way she lived and loved. As the wife of a Navy pilot Lieutenant Commander Richard Karr, she had been widowed at a very young age and raised two children as a single parent. She showed great courage and stamina as she persevered and made a life for their family in San Diego, CA. Twenty-two years later met another pilot, this time an Air Force Colonel Donald Armstrong Jr, who passed just three years ago. She possessed a gentle grace and a calm presence that brought comfort to those around her.
She was deeply committed to service and fellowship.Attended Texas Woman’s University and Texas Tech. Proudly participating in Book Clubs, Republican and Methodist Women groups and P.E.O. International (an organization devoted to supporting women’s college tuitions). Through these groups, Loretta formed lasting friendships and lived out her belief in kindness, generosity, and community.
She was most fond of her adventures around the world as a travel agent and journeying alongside husband Donald. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her gentle spirit, her thoughtful heart and the love she shared so freely with family and friends.
