Louise McDougald

Louise Pearson McDougald, age 97, passed away Friday August 24, 2012 in Lubbock. Louise was born October 9, 1914 in Portland, Oregon to Francis C. and Stella Mae (Rollins) Pearson, the 3rd sibling in a family of eight, 6 girls and 2 boys.

At the age of 2 weeks she moved with her family to a farm near Waynesville Missouri where she grew up and attended school. While working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington D.C. she met and married Coy McDougald on September 3, 1954. The couple moved to Lubbock TX where Coy was based for his work with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture REA Administration. Louise was a homemaker and accompanied Coy on much of his work travels and Masonic activities. Louise was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for over 50 years and was very active including being a member of Downtown Bible Class. She was a Meals-on-Wheels volunteer for 20 years.

Louise is survived by her sister, Grace (Josh) Langfur of Memphis, TN; brother John(Doris) Pearson of Collinsville, IL;Sister-in-law Iola Rayl Pearson of Richland, MO; nephews and nieces, David E Crumley of Pueblo West, CO, Sue Stanek of Algonquin, IL, Jinnie Alexander of Waynesville, MO, Dawn Barton of Chillicothe, MO, Jane McConnell of Arlington, TX, Georgana Pearson of Fulton, MO, Lois Fultz of Brookfield, IL, Chris Pearson of Longview, TX, Scott Pearson of Houston ,TX, Roseann White of Memphis, TN, Sara Stuart of Clinton,TN, Mark McKenzie of Jacksonville, FL and Bud Pearson of Burton, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Coy McDougald, sisters Agnes Mumford, Myrtle Gladden, Mabel Crumley, Frances McKenzie and brother Ted Pearson.

Visitation will be held Tuesday August 28, 2012 from 6 to7 pm in Rest haven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 29, at 10 am in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Scottish Rite Learning Center, 1101 70th St, Lubbock, TX 79412.
