On Monday January 25, 2016, Louise died peacefully in the presence of her family at her home. Louise was born on January 9, 1929 in Hollis, Oklahoma to Mary and Bodle Wiley. Her parents farmed cotton and Louise pulled bolls all her young life. After graduating from Ron High School she moved with her sister Rosie to Oklahoma City where she worked until marrying her one and only, Hardy Scott. They made Lubbock their home and were married almost 64 years.
She worked for Preston Smith, Wagnon Griffin Insurance Agency, Dr. Lowell Johnson and was an amazing homemaker. She and Hardy fed hundreds of medical students, bible students and took a host of them under their wings. Lou loved gardening, canning, sewing, crafting, camping, traveling, and learning new things. Her Lord and her family were her top priorities.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents and older brother Wesley Wiley. She is survived by her husband, Hardy; two daughters Sheri and Lester Gicklhorn and Sharla and Tracy Wallace; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Rosie Sanford, Francis Heflin, and brother G.B. Wiley and a host of dear nieces and nephews, in laws and friends.
Memorials are suggested to Sunset Church of Christ, LCU and Alzheimer’s Research. Condolences may be offered at www.resthavenfuneralhome.com
The family wants to extend our love and gratitude to all the staff of Manna Acres, past and present, Calvert Home Health Services and Dr. Randy Rozean and staff for their love and care Louise has been given these past years.
