Ludy & John Rogers
Ludy Mae Rogers, 79, of Lubbock, TX. passed away on June 30, 2017. Mrs. Rogers was born on February 1, 1938 to William Arthur and Mamie Beatrice (Bean) Turpin in Hannah, OK. Mrs. Rogers had a huge heart, and loved taking care of children. She operated a day care center out of her home for many years. She also enjoyed reading, and was a very passionate basketball fan, especially for the Dallas Mavericks. Most of all she was a very devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will always be loved by those who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, and four brothers.
John Donald Rogers, 86, of Lubbock, passed away Friday, April 10, 2020. He was born October 13, 1933 in Olney, Texas to James Alfred and Amy Thelma Rogers. John and Ludy Mae Turpin were married April 11, 1953 at the First Christian Church in Dalhart, Texas. He joined the Air Force in 1953 and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1978. He earned an Associates Degree in Electronics from South Plains College. Mr. Rogers enjoyed repairing electronics and was a movie buff. Mr. Rogers was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and two sisters.
Those left to cherish Ludy’s and John's memory are their son, Troy Don Rogers; daughter, Gwendolyn Mae Ray; son, Travis John Rogers (Allen); daughter, Jennifer Kae Mott (Ronnie); and her sister, Unie Matthews. Mr. and Mrs. Rogers were also blessed with 7 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
