

Manuel was born on December 29, 1939, in Raymondville and spent most of his life in Lubbock, the community he proudly called home. He graduated from Lyford High School and went on to attend Texas A&I University in Kingsville. Shortly thereafter, he was drafted into the United States Army and honorably served his country.
Manuel was previously married to Irene Guerra. Together they raised a family and shared many years of memories.
In the 1970s, Manuel founded Loya Painting, a business he proudly operated for more than 45 years. Through his dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment to doing things the right way, he earned the respect of many throughout the community.
He was a devoted member of San Ramon Catholic Church and carried his faith with quiet strength throughout his life. Manuel will be remembered for his loyalty to family, his generosity, his sense of humor, and the lasting impact he made on everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lydia Loya and Manuel Loya; his sister, Sue Loya; and Irene Guerra Loya.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Annette Alonzo and husband Charlie, Yvette Hinojosa and husband Andy, and Michael Loya and wife Monica; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
The Rosary will be held Monday, June 1, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at San Ramon Catholic Church, followed by interment at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
