I cherishes a Betty Crocker cookbook that Aunt Elva gave me 28 years ago when I married her nephew Ricky. I also can picture her house when I went to have Thanksgiving with her family 25 years ago when we first moved to Lubbock. I can hear your voice saying my name making sure we had enough to eat. Aunt Elva was a person who would welcome you with open arms. You are home now with our heavenly father but will always remain in our hearts. Lots of love to our Reyna family

Two years ago, I was in & out of the hospital for 14 months. Doctors couldn’t figure out what was going on with my stomach & intestines. But when Aunt Elva heard I was in the hospital, she was there. As much as I wanted my mom, I was so happy to see Aunt Elva the day I was having a colonoscopy to check for cancer. She told me the procedure wouldn’t hurt & she would be there when I woke up; and she was. I love & miss you, Aunt Elva.

Elva and her husband Pete lived in an apartment that I managed and they were a landlords delight. Daughters Robyn and Shaila already had their own apartments there so I had three apartments with 3 Reyna's and so my story with the Reyna family began. Elva was a kind, loving, giving person that was always there to help someone when she could. The apartment property family Christmas luncheon was a big hit every year with her wonderful cooking to help out. She is someone I will not forget. Rest in peace sweet Elva, you have earned your wings...... fly high.

Elva has always been part of my life. She always loved and served her family and friends and the Lord. I never saw her when she wasn’t serving others. My favorite memory was the one Saturday when she taught my daughter and me to make tamales! What a wonderful and fun day! She quietly and selflessly took care of things and people. Praise God that she is receiving her reward in Heaven now. Our prayers are now with her family for comfort and peace. We love you all so much .

We have been blessed to have Elva and her family in our lives. She was a special part of my daughter Heather's life. You will be missed.
