Marcia Leos, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away on August 10, 2026, at the age of 79.

Born on September 24, 1946, in Bremond, Texas, Marcia was raised in a large, loving family where the bonds between siblings ran deep. Her brothers and sisters were more than family—they were lifelong friends, confidants, and companions through every season of life. They shared a special closeness filled with laughter, memories, family gatherings, and the kind of love that only siblings who have walked through life together can truly understand. That bond remained precious to Marcia throughout her entire life.

As life unfolded, Marcia made her home in Lubbock, Texas, where she built a life filled with family, love, and countless memories. It was in Lubbock that she married the love of her life, Santos Leos. Santos passed away during their marriage, leaving Marcia to carry the memories of their life together and the love they shared.

In the years that followed, Marcia was blessed with the companionship of Pete Gutierrez. Though she never remarried, Pete brought companionship, love, and meaningful memories into another season of her life. Pete also preceded her in death, leaving Marcia to carry those memories with her.

Through the joys and losses of life, Marcia continued to love deeply and remained devoted to the people who meant the most to her.

Her greatest joy was her family. She was the proud mother of Joe Leos and Rosa Espinoza, a grandmother to seven grandchildren, a great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandmother to four great-great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest treasure, and the love she poured into them will continue through every generation that follows.

Marcia found happiness in the simple things that made life beautiful and meaningful. She loved sewing, creating things with her hands, and taking pride in the little details. She had a special love for plants, nurturing them with the same patience and care she showed the people she loved.

But perhaps some of her sweetest memories were made in the kitchen. Marcia loved baking and making tamales with her family. Those moments were about so much more than food. They were moments of connection, laughter, tradition, and togetherness. The recipes she made, the hands she taught, the stories she shared, and the memories created around her table will remain a part of her family’s story for generations to come.

For Marcia, family was never simply about sharing a last name. It was about showing up, staying connected, making memories, and loving one another through every season of life. She cherished the close relationship she shared with her brothers and sisters, and that same spirit of love and togetherness became a beautiful part of the family she created.
