
Margaret was born on October 8, 1947, in Muenster, Texas, to Aubrey Leo Lawson and Mildred Lawson of Muenster, Texas. She was raised with strong family values, a compassionate heart, and a love for life that she carried with her throughout her years.
Margaret was the devoted wife of Dr. James L. Nelson Jr. Together they shared a lifetime of love, companionship, and treasured memories. She found great joy in traveling with her husband, exploring new places, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She was a loving and devoted mother to her sons, Shannon Brown and James L. Nelson III ( Trey ). Her guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love were the foundation of her family and will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Margaret was also a proud and loving grandmother. She is survived by her granddaughter, Alexandra Coon (Nelson), and her husband, Preston Coon; and her granddaughter, Ashley Nelson. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and took great pride in their accomplishments and happiness.
She is also survived by her beloved brother, Jimmy Lawson and his wife, Chris Lawson of Krum, Texas, along with numerous extended family members and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her love and friendship.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey Leo Lawson and Mildred Lawson of Muenster, Texas.
Those who knew Margaret will remember her beautiful smile, gentle nature, unwavering devotion to family, and her ability to bring joy to every gathering. Whether she was dancing, traveling, sharing stories, or simply enjoying the company of those she loved, she lived each day with grace, gratitude, and a deep appreciation for life’s blessings.
Margaret leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. While her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
