Margie L. Fowler

Funeral services for Margie Fowler, 77, will be held Wednesday June 13, 2012 at 10AM in Southcrest Baptist Church with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday June 12 from 6 to 8 pm in Resthaven Funeral Home. Margie was born January 30, 1935 in Canyon, Texas to Claude and Mildred Fewell. She graduated from Lubbock High School in 1953. She was saved and baptized in McAdoo, TX in 1943 and an active member of Southcrest Baptist Church. Margie loved to paint in water colors and taught art classes. She loved traveling, playing 42, her dogs, loved to laugh and loved her grandchildren. She was a member of the Lubbock Art Society and the Nifty Fifty Car Club.

Margie is survived by her husband Cecil Fowler of Lubbock; daughter, Vicki (Thomas) Hunter of Midland, TX; 2 sons, Jimmy (Karen Jo) Matsler of Arlington, TX and Jeffrey (Mary) Matsler of Tulia; 2 sisters, LaVonne Sharp of New Home, TX and Caroline Hawes of Bryan Station, TX; brother, Bernard (Mary Fran) Fewell of Canyon, TX; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Contributions may be made to the Amarillo Alzheimer’s Academy at Texas Tech University.
