Maria was born on March 15, 1926 in Kochiusco, Tx. She attended Templo Alabanza Unida with Pastor Ronnie Saldana faithfully, for many years. She was a mighty woman of prayer, and she loved to sing and Praise the Lord. Mom's greatest joy and happiness was when she was working in her garden planting all colors and types of flowers. She worked 19 years at Lubbock State School as a Foster Grandparent. She then retired due to illness of Alzheimers and Parkinsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband Federico Amaya and daughter Erlinda Amaya. Maria and Federico were married in Lubbock, Tx on September 2nd, 1950. She leaves behind her children, Ernest Amaya, Maria Elena Juarez, Fred Amaya Jr., Lillie Rico and Rebecca Placencai as well as 15 grand children, and 15 great grand children. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
We would like to thank Hospice of Lubbock for their won-derful care for mom. Specifi-cally Diana Hernandez and Gwen Akeroyd, who were the best nurses. They showered her with great care and love
