

Marilyn (Dawdy) Robertson was born June 29, 1943 in Ralls, Texas to John Homer and Emma Faye (Baker) Dawdy. Following a heroic 27 year battle with breast cancer, Marilyn entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 surrounded by family.
She grew up in Idalou, Texas and graduated from Idalou High School in 1961. She attended Texas Tech University before marrying her best friend, Melvin Dean Robertson on December 4, 1964. Marilyn was a member of the church of Christ and thoroughly enjoyed teaching children's Bible classes. She was the mother of Phil, Todd, and Carrie. Her greatest pride was being Mim to her precious grandchildren; Megan (husband Noland) Higginbottom, Jill Robertson, Koda (wife Madison) Duren, Gray (wife Emma) Robertson, Kyler (husband Matt) Boeh, Reid Robertson, Ryan Robertson, Reece Robertson, Case Shockley, Kenley Shockley and Reagan Robertson and six great-grandchildren; Oliver, Jesse, Coulter, Sutton, June and Eveilyn.
Marilyn was a realtor in Amarillo and Longview for over 30 years. She loved to shop, entertain and thoroughly enjoyed a good game of Skip-Bo and Wahoo with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Faye, husband, Dean, and oldest brother, Roger.
She will be missed by her sons and daughters-in-law: Phil & Cheryl Robertson of Thonotosassa, Florida; Todd & Laura Robertson of Richardson, Texas; and daughter and son-in-law Carrie & Stephen Shockley of Lufkin, Texas; sister & brother-in-law Carol and Jerrell Griffin of Lubbock, Texas, Sister-in-law Claudia Dawdy of Lindale, Texas, brother & sister-in-law J.O. and Jeanne Dawdy of Idalou, Texas, and sister-in-law & husband Kay (Robertson) & Raymond Neathery of Georgetown, Texas, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service in honor of Marilyn will be at 2:00pm on Monday, May 19th at Resthaven Cemetery Chapel in Lubbock, Texas. Pallbearers will be grandsons Ryan, Reece, and Reagan Robertson, Koda Duren, Gray Robertson, Case Shockley, and D.T. Thomas. Honorary pallbearers are great-grandsons Oliver and Jesse Higginbottom and Coulter Duren.
