Marilyn graduated from Monterey High School and worked as an aid in Health Care and the Food Service industry where she worked for Chinese Kitchen for many years. Early in her life she was a member of the Asbury Methodist Church and later a member of the Highland Baptist Church.
Marilyn had a particular passion for keeping the family apprised of the most recent events in each of our lives, earning her the Most Special Title of “Our Town Crier”. She loved spending time at family gatherings especially with her many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn never forgot a special date and made sure she reminded us each of the many birthdays and anniversaries our extended family had. Her favorite pastime was listening to audiobooks and repeating them almost verbatim to anyone who would listen.
She is survived by her good friend Gary Sanders of 40+ years, sisters and brothers, Jan & Gary Pollard, Glenn & Cassie Van Slyke, Robin & Jan Exum, Linda & Paul Schroeder, Tracy & Amy Van Slyke and her 15 nieces and nephews who all will miss her greatly!
Visitation will be held in the Resthaven Abbey Chapel on Sunday June 6, 2021 at 1:00 pm, and Funeral Services will be held for close friends and family at 1:00 pm Monday June 7, 2021 at Resthaven’s Mausoleum Chapel and can be viewed on Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park Facebook® Page with graveside immediately afterwards.
