Marjorie Botkin

Marjorie Botkin, 88, of Lubbock, Texas passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Carillon House. Funeral services will be at 2 pm, Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with Rev. Dusty Thompson officiating. Graveside service will be held Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 10 am in Flint Creek Cemetery, Belton, Texas with Rev Sam Callaway officiating.

Marjorie was born February 5, 1923 in Flat, Texas to the late C. A. and Mattie (Stuteville) Lawrence. She graduated from Tahoka High School. On May 21, 1942, she married Roy A. Botkin. She devoted her life to taking care of her family. In 1952 they moved to Hereford, Texas where they lived for many years. In 1980 they retired to Lake Belton, Texas.

She was preceded in death by brother, Clayton Lawrence, sister, Aldeen Ellison and husband, Roy Botkin.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are son, Ron Botkin and wife, Mary; daughter, Nelda Solsbery and husband, Clayton, all of Houston and daughter, Myrna Clark and husband, Jack of Lubbock, brother, Russell Lawrence and wife, Rita of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Richard Plank, Jeanie James, Kristie Franco, Ryan Botkin, Shelly Botkin Marquess, Dr. Amy Thompson; step grandchildren, Kevin Solsbery, Dana Fuqua, and 15 great grandchildren.
