Martha Mae Long Roach

Martha Loyd Long Roach passed away October 11th, 2014 at the age of 90. She was born in Magazine Ark, and moved as a child to western Oklahoma where she married Dale Long a week after their high school graduation. They had 2 daughters and moved to Lubbock in 1954 where she attended Beauty School and owned Martha's Beauty Salon for many years. Martha loved to dance, bowled on a league, and was an avid Texas Tech fan, especially Lady Raider Basketball. Dale preceded her in death in 1975. She married Rayburn Roach in 1991 and he passed away in 1994.

Martha is also preceded in death by her parents Johnny and Ola Loyd and 7 siblings. She is survived by daughters Sherry Christensen and Candy Pruitt, granddaughter Tiffany Smith (Mark), and 2 great grandchildren (Kolt & Kimber), all of Lubbock, and many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered and missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be Tuesday October 14 from 12 noon to 2:00pm in Resthaven funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 2:30pm at Resthaven Mausoleum Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Lubbock Meals on Wheels, 2304 34th st., Lubbock, Texas 79411.
