Marvie Ann Deaver, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. She was born on January 7, 1932 in Slaton, Texas to Elmer Ray and Nellie Ann Fincher. Marvie attended Morton High School and graduated in the class of 1949. She began her career in banking and bookkeeping after graduation.
Marvie married Billie Richard Deaver on May 10, 1951 and had two daughters, Cindy and Marla, and resided in Lubbock for sixty years. She was an active member of the Church of Christ, participated in numerous PTAs and had a passion for her daughters’ activities including Camp Fire Girls.
Marvie will always be remembered for her sewing and quilting. She loved to read, play games, and work in her flower beds.
Funeral services and burial will be held on July 23, 2026 at 10:00 am at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas.
Pallbearers for the service will be: Nick Deaver, Rick Deaver, Travis Pollan, Jeff Stein, Jeremy Stein, and Doug Wilhelm.
Marvie was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Bill Deaver, parents, Elmer and Nellie Fincher, and sister, Bernice Nesbitt.
She is survived by sister, Faye Bergland of Mesquite, Texas, daughters Cynthia Ann Stein and husband Worley of Allen, Texas, and Marla Rae Pollan of Arlington, Texas.
Marvie had four grandchildren, Jennifer Wilhelm and husband Doug, Jeffrey Stein, Jeremy Stein and wife Ashley, and Travis Pollan and wife Sarah. She had four great-grandchildren, Bryce Wilhelm, Lila Stein, Randall Stein, and Iris Stein, and numerous nieces and nephews.
