Celebration of Life service for Mary Jenkins, 93, of Lubbock will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, January 22, 2010 at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 7 to 8 pm, Friday, January 21, 2011 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Mary passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011.
Mary Ann was born January 26, 1917 in Taylor, Texas to the late Conrad and Rudolphina (Hluchanek) Melcher. She married the love of her life, Clyde Jenkins, February 18, 1938, who preceded her in death on April 25, 1997. Mary was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Jenkins.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Dorthy Rutledge of Dallas and Betty Ralph of Lubbock, sons; Richard Jenkins and wife, Mary of Lubbock and Tommy Jenkins and wife, Linda of Boise, Idaho, daughter-in-law; Betty Jenkins of Porter, brothers; Frank Melcher of Brownfield, C.J. Melcher and wife, Francis of Slaton, 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
