Mary Max was born September 16, 1915 in McKinney, Texas, to Ernest Lee and Ruby Oats Daniel. She graduated from Plainview High School and Wayland Baptist University. She married Stephen W. Noble on September 1, 1936, in Plainview. She and Stephen were married for 58 years. They lived and raised their family in Lubbock, Texas and were members of First Baptist Church. They moved to Waco in 1991 and were members of Columbus Ave. Baptist Church.
Mary Max was beloved by her family and her friends. She brought great joy, laughter, wisdom and wit to every gathering where she was present. She had a warm home, was a gracious hostess and, until very recently, never showed up without a jar of homemade marinated vegetables or a delicious dessert. She was a beautiful presence, both inside and outside, and while her presence will be missed terribly, her influence will carry on through all who knew her.
Mary Max loved her husband deeply and was a faithful companion to him until he died on May 16, 1994. She had a friendship and bond with her beloved sister, Ruth (Chee Chee) Meyers and was likewise a faithful sister and caregiver to her until her death in 1998. She survived countless friends and relatives including daughter-in-law Patsy Noble, of Iowa. She is survived by son Stephen Noble, Jr. of Des Moines, Iowa, daughter Dana Hardcastle and husband, Don, of Waco, son Mark Noble and wife, Jill, of Dallas, eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She will be missed greatly, but Mary Max was ready to meet her savior, Jesus Christ, face to face. All who loved her rejoice with and for her that she is with Him now in Heaven.
The family thanks the wonderful staff of the 1st Floor at St. Catherine's for their daily care, Providence Hospice nurses & helpers, and Diana Marcedo, caregiver for their love and care.
