

Mary Helen Quintanilla (née Medina), age 75, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on December 12, 1949, in Levelland, Texas, Mary lived a life marked by dedication to her family, her faith, and her many passions.
Mary began her professional journey at Texas Instruments on the assembly line and, through hard work and determination, rose to a leadership role in Human Resources. While working full-time, she pursued higher education and earned a bachelor's degree in Business with a focus on Human Resources from Wayland Baptist University. Over more than two decades at Texas Instruments, she played an integral role in developing and implementing HR policies that supported countless employees.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Mary was the heart of every gathering. Known for her exceptional culinary skills, she was the beloved hostess of family events and social gatherings alike. Her Thanksgiving meals were legendary—especially her dressing—and no one could resist her BBQs featuring her famous potato salad and deviled eggs. Her menudo and other Mexican dishes were cherished staples at every celebration. Cooking was not just a skill for Mary; it was an expression of love that she shared generously with everyone around her.
Mary also had a deep creative spirit. She found joy in painting ceramics with the same care and precision she brought to the kitchen. Her beautifully detailed nativity sets and other ceramic gifts are treasured keepsakes among family and friends. Each piece reflected her artistic talent and the love she poured into everything she did.
An avid traveler and sports enthusiast, Mary enjoyed bowling and golfing throughout her life. These hobbies brought her joy and allowed her to connect with others through friendly competition and shared experiences.
Her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ as her savior was a guiding force throughout her life. It shaped how she loved others—with kindness, generosity, and grace.
Mary is survived by her devoted husband, Manual Quintanilla; her loving mother, Anita Muniz; daughter Cathy Fisher; brother Sam Muniz; grandsons Salvador Belgara, Aaron Quintanilla, and Ryan Quintanilla; and great-granddaughter Be Anaya Belgara.
She was preceded in death by her father Juan Medina; son, Sidney Quintanilla; brothers Abel Muniz and Ismael Muniz; and granddaughter Sofia Belgara.
Mary’s legacy lives on through the meals shared around family tables, the ceramic treasures displayed in homes, and the memories held dear by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her so deeply.

A Funeral Service will be held on July 11, 2025, from 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM at Resthaven Abbey Chapel 5740 19th. A Graveside Service will be held on July 11, 2025, from 03:00 PM to 03:30 PM at Resthaven Memorial Park 5740 19th Street. A Reception will be held on July 11, 2025 at 3:30 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home 5740 19th Street.
