Meagan Reed Syapin

Meagan Reed Syapin passed away on February 14, 2019. A time of fellowship and remembrance is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 34 years at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church.Meagan Alyse was born on March 26, 1984, to Richard Reed and Cheryl Stephenson in Lubbock, Texas. Meagan married Matthew Syapin on January 23, 2016, in Lubbock, Texas. Meagan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Tech University with a degree in Psychology and made her career helping others in social work. Meagan developed the StarCare P.A.D.R.E. program in Lubbock for fathers at risk. She currently worked as an area supervisor for ResCare, supervising residential care homes for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.Meagan focused on positivity, loved with all her heart and was the first to help those in need.Meagan loved children and began working in the church nursery at a very young age.  Meagan loved her furry friends and actively participated in rescue efforts.Survivors include her husband, Matthew Syapin; father, Richard Reed, and wife, Charlene; mother, Cheryl Stephenson; siblings, Casey Fielding, Derek Fielding and girlfriend Jessica Jewel; and nephews, Mikeuel Fielding, Damien and Devon Jewel. Meagan is also survived by her Aunt Cindy, Uncle Colin, and cousins Madeleine and Emma Hale.
