Michael Joseph Malloy

In loving memory of Michael Joseph Malloy, 72, a cherished soul whose light graced this world on December 27, 1953, in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, to John Joseph and Jean Theodora Foshay Malloy. Michael passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, after a courage battle with a heart condition and multiple strokes. He is leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and generosity that will not be forgotten.

From an early age, he showed a curious mind and a natural talent for understanding how things worked, which later led him to a successful career as an electrical engineer. He took great pride in his work and was respected for his dedication, intelligence, and problem-solving abilities.

A graduate of an Arizona University, Michael earned an associates degree and furthered his education through numerous certifications during his service in the United States Navy, where he served as an Engineman from June 1975 until his honorable discharge in November 1983. He proudly attained the rank of E-6 demonstrating a steadfast dedication to his country.

Following his military service, Michael applied his skills as an electrician and maintenance supervisor at an assisted living facility and a hospital in the Phoenix area. He also contributed his talents to the Arizona School District and Home Depot touching lives with his professionalism and kindness.

While Michael valued his career, it was his personality and the way he treated others that truly defined him. He was rarely seen without a smile—so constant that it left lasting lines around his eyes, a reflection of the joy he carried throughout his life. Michael had a playful sense of humor and was a natural jokester, always ready with a laugh or a lighthearted comment to brighten someone’s day. His kindness knew no bounds; he was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need, never hesitating to put others before himself.

In 1994, Michael married the love of his life, Susan. He often joked that he became a husband, father, and grandfather all at once, embracing each role wholeheartedly. Family was the center of Michael’s world, and he took immense pride in being a steady, loving presence for those he cared about.

Michael was survived by his devoted wife, Susan, who later passed on May 21, 2026. Also, his step-daughter, Tammy (Jim Preidis) who affectionately called him “Pops”. Michael’s legacy of love continues through his three grandsons, Timothy (wife Calleigh), Benjamin, and Jonathon; his beloved great-grandchildren, Matthew, Michaela, Liam, Lexi, Parker, Paxleigh, Amelia, Dennis and Scarlett-Rose. He is also survived by his brother, Robert, fifteen nieces and nephews, and a multitude of great nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jean Malloy; his brothers, Dennis, and Ted; and his sisters, Karen and Lannia.

Michael will be remembered as a man of deep compassion, humor, and unwavering generosity. His ability to make others feel valued and cared for left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Whether through a joke, a helping hand, or simply his warm presence, Michael made the world a better place.

A celebration of Michael and Susan’s life will be held on June 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, 6025 82nd Street, Lubbock, Texas 79424.

Though he may be gone from this world, Michael’s spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched. His smile, laughter, and love will remain forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
