Misty was born on August 14, 1969, to Darryl and Jane McCartor in Lubbock. She spent many years as a devoted single mother, working tirelessly and putting herself second so that her son, Saylor, never had to go without. She embraced motherhood the way she approached everything in life, with commitment and love.
A joyful new chapter began when she married Dave. Over their twenty-two years together, they welcomed twin daughters, Lexi and Zoey, and filled those years with beautiful memories and many adventures. Watching the girls grow into the young women they are today gave her immense pride, and she never missed a chance to brag on any of her children.
Misty always had a way of filling a room. She was funny, loud in the best way, and as strong-willed as they come. She had a beautiful singing voice, was the epitome of a true Southern cook, and was a devout Christian. Beneath her outgoing personality was a steadfast courage that carried her through much of her life and will remain her legacy.
Misty is survived by her son, Saylor McCartor; her daughters, Lexi and Zoey Neufeld, and their father, Dave Neufeld; her four siblings; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, at Lake Ridge Chapel, with friends and family welcome to come and go. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 29 at Lake Ridge Chapel, followed by burial at Lubbock Cemetery.
