Monica grew up in Tahoka and graduated from Tahoka High School in 2011. She attended Lubbock Christian University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Youth and Family Ministry. She began work on a Master’s Degree in counseling and was about halfway through when she decided to take a break from school.
On April 12, 2019 she married the love of her life, Travis Windham. It was a perfect match. Travis and Monica live in Lubbock. They are raising three beautiful children, a daughter, Blake who is 5 and a half, a son, Hayes who is 2 and a half and a son, Hudson who is 6 months old.
Monica worked in several different jobs mostly in the financial industry. Her favorite job, though, was staying home raising her children. When Hudson was born she and Travis decided it was best for her to stay home with the kids. She loved every second of being able to be with them.
Most of all, Monica loved the Lord with all of her heart, with all of her soul and with all of her mind. This was evident in her everyday life. She also loved her neighbor as herself. If you knew Monica, you were loved by Monica. Thursday evening she heard her Lord welcome her home with “Well done good and faithful servant. Enter in to your rest’. We were all blessed beyond measure to have had Monica in our lives. We just had to give her back sooner than we wanted to.
