Nada "Jean" McMillan Ham was born in Tahoka,TX to the late Loyd Leroy McMillan & Leila Katherine Short McMillan. She graduated from Tahoka High School in 1945. Jean worked as a bookkeeper for Byrd Sand & Gravel for over 30 years & a clerical assistant for Phillips and Associates for close to 20 years. She felt one of her greatest accomplishments was buying a home as a single female in the 60s.
She had one son, Jerry Mike Ham, on 10/2/1950. They were very close and were big sports fans. Family was so important to her and she was so proud to be a great-grandma.
The love of her life besides her family was tennis. She began playing at 50 years old and was an avid player for many years. She was a lifetime resident of Lubbock since adulthood, with the exception of moving to Cypress, TX 7 years ago to be closer to her son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jean was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Mike Ham; brother, Bob McMillan; sister, Clyda Fern Lewis and her parents. She is survived by granddaughters, Krista Ham Stoutner (Steve) & Jennifer Ham Tiffin; and four great-grandchildren.
Family will begin receiving guests on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 12pm with a Celebration of Life Service at 1pm in Resthaven's Funeral Home Abbey Chapel. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
