She was a graduate of Stamford High School and Liperts Business College. She attended nursing school and received her LVN certification at 42 years of age. She worked at the Plainview Hospital and Covenant Hospital Lubbock. Nannie was a member of the Church of Christ.
She married the late Bill Harlan in 1946 with whom she had four daughters, Saundra Keim of Omaha, Nebraska, Judy Buchanan of Plainview, Texas, Cindy Richau of Evans, Colorado and Karen Smith of Rosharon, Texas.
Nannie married the late Glenn Rankin in 1976 with whom she shared three stepdaughters and three stepsons. She is also survived by one sister Dorothy Dean of Angleton, Texas, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters and seven brothers.
