Nellie Jo (Collins) Balch entered into her heavenly home on May 10th, 2023 and the age of 90. She was a daughter, mother, and grandmother. She was born to Gladys and Joe Collins on July 12, 1932 in Littlefield, TX.
Nellie married the love of her life Don De Balch and they were blessed with 47 years of marriage and had two wonderful children together.
In her free time Nellie enjoyed gardening in her yard and gave extra attention to her beautiful roses. She was also known for her seamstress capabilities. There was nothing she couldn’t fix or make. In her pastime she was a painter, as she was a busy body that never stopped working. Her family will remember her for her giving spirit, hard work and loving soul. She was simply the best Mom to her kids.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don De Balch; and siblings: Geneva Collins, Lillian Davis, Daphine Cate, Hazel Penny, ML Collins, Jackie Collins and Joe Collins.
Nellie leaves behind to cherish her memories her children, Greg Balch and wife Louise, Laurie Balch Wilson; grandkids: Levi Balch, Madison Balch, Tabitha Wilson, Heath Wilson, and step-grandchildren Justan Bruner and Kristan Murphy; siblings: Lucy Todd, Stella Fincher, Bobby Collins; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
The family invites you to join them to honor and celebrate Nellie’s life. Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home on Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 2-6 pm. Services will be in the Abbey chapel at Resthaven on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
