

Nelly W. Adams, age 100, of Lubbock Texas, passed peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2015 with her loving family by her side. She was born June 20, 1915 to the late Edgar and Linnie Tyler, in Pope, Mississippi. At the age of five she and her family moved to Mt. Park Oklahoma, where she lived through her school years. She married Garland Adams on July 18, 1937 and during the course of time had four children. The family moved to Texas in 1947 and finally to Levelland, Texas in 1948. She lived in Levelland until all the children graduated from high school, and then moved to Lubbock in 1964. She was a homemaker and full time mother, and was a member of Temple Baptist Church for 50 years. She celebrated her 100th birthday in June.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Garland Adams, an infant daughter, Jacqualine, her daughter, Laquita Webb, and a grandson, Cody Ehrler.
She is survived by a daughter, Treva Ehrler & husband Al, a son, Larry Adams & wife Carol, and a son-in-law, Donnie Webb. She also has seven grandchildren, Boogie Webb, Shawn Davis, Sharla Methvin, Cory Ehrler, Mark Adams, Matt Adams, and Shanna Adams, twenty two great grandchildren, twelve great great grandchildren, and one great great great grandchild.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 25 at Temple Baptist Church, Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home.
