She was born on May 16, 1948 in Brownfield, TX to Leon H. and Eloise (Vargas) Vasquez.
She was preceded in death by her parents Leon H. Vasquez and Eloise Vargas Vasquez.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children Cornelio Valdez, Jr. of Brownsville, TX, Patricia Kay Valdez of Crest Hill, IL and Vickie Kay Valdez of Portland, OR; her grandchildren Justin Lee Valdez, Harlingen Tx, Ethan James Valdez, Harlingen, TX, Jessie Elizondo, Tokyo, Japan, Amber Nicole Elizondo, San Antonio, TX, Melanie Laney Vega, Joliet, IL; her brothers Leandro Vasquez of Lubbock, TX, Alfred Vasquez of Lubbock, TX, Juan Manuel Vasquez of Spur, TX and Leonard Patrick Vasquez of Lubbock, TX and her sisters Guadalupe Eloise Romero of Lubbock, TX, Irma Sanchez of Spur, TX, Margie Francis Valerio of Spur, TX and Olivia Denise Islas of Lubbock, TX. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2024 in the Abbey Chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home.
