Mike Shopenn passed away Monday, March 26th, after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy, two daughters, Michelle Shopenn and Donna Corbin (Ken) of Lubbock, two grandchildren, Allen and Rebecca Corbin of Lubbock; a brother, Mervyn (Evelyn) of Los Angeles, California and several nieces and nephews. He served in the Navy during World War II, and participated in testing of the effects of Atomic Bombs at Bikini Atoll, Marshall Islands in the Pacific Ocean. He was a Master Mason in the Masonic Lodge, San Jacinto No. 1330 A.F. & A.M. in Amarillo. A visitation will be held Thursday March 29th from 5-7 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home. Graveside services for Mike will be Friday, March 30th, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park.
