Pansy Pauline "Polly" Jackson

Pansy Pauline “Polly” or “Gran” Jackson, 95, of Lubbock, went home to be with the Lord and her husband of 54 years, Grady Deak Jackson, on January 19, 2019, surrounded by family. Polly was born on November 8, 1923 in New Castle, Texas, to John and Myrtle Reynolds. She was raised in Dickens, Texas and was the oldest of six children.

She married Grady on September 28, 1946 in Spur, Texas. They had five children who were raised in Dickens and Buffalo Springs Lake. They then moved to The Yellow Rose, in Tahoka, Texas, where their grandchildren have fond memories of the farm.

Grady and Polly were members of the Kuntry Kuzzins Square Dancing Club and were President’s of the club for several years. Her hobbies included watching Jerry Springer and Maury, while working on word searches and reading the Enquirer. One of Polly’s passions was art, including painting and drawing. She attended art classes in Post for several years. She had an unconditional love for family, friends and sharing her life story. Family was her medicine. Gran loved Hershey kisses, drinking Coca-Cola, listening to country music and participating in her daily two-man band with her great granddaughter, Piper. Her spunky, witty, charming, finger flipping, story telling, blue eyed Granny will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her children Peggy Balentine (Paul), Becky Moyers, Billy Jackson (Allyson), Debbie Rodriguez (Marvin), 12 grandchildren; Mike Ballentine, Kenny Balentine, Kathy Garrett, Kim Moyers, Heath Jackson, Jeremy Moyers, Matt Jackson, Swade Moyers, Stephen Balentine, Brittani Pricer, Brandi Keeter, Mandi Jackson-Allcorn, 16 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, one sister, Mary Smiley and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Minnie Myrtle Reynolds; husband, Grady Deak Jackson; son, Paul Duncan; two brothers, John (Sonny Boy) Reynolds and Dickey Reynolds; two sisters, Winona (Tookie) Cobb and Joyce Morriss and two grandchildren, Chad Moyers and Tanya Ballentine.
