

Patsey Ruth (Jobe) Bice, 83, went home to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Family visitation will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 5740 19th Street, Lubbock, Texas. Family burial service will be conducted prior to her Celebration of Life Service to be held Friday, August 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Southcrest Baptist Church, 3801 S. Loop 289, Lubbock,Texas. Patsey was born on June 28,1938 in Denison, Texas to Milford and Ruth Jobe. Her family moved to Wolfforth, Texas in 1945 where she attended Frenship schools until she graduated in 1955. She married William Alvin (Bill) Bice on February 12, 1955 and after graduation, briefly attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.
After returning to Lubbock, Texas, Patsey was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years and was currently a member of Highland Baptist Church. She volunteered much of her time visiting and calling home bound and sick members of the congregation, as well as visiting nursing homes.
Avon was one of Patsey’s passions. Through much hard work, she was able to attain President’s Club status for her high sales. Many of her customers became friends that she cherished through the years.
Music was an important part of Patsey’s life. She was an accomplished pianist, sang in the Calvary church choir for many years as well as serving as Director of Children’s Choir Ministry at Calvary Baptist Church for several years while her children were young.
Patsey was also a gifted seamstress with an artistic knack. Other hobbies included arts and crafts, growing flowers (especially roses), which she shared with friends and neighbors. She entered the Ms Texas South Plains pageant at the age of 63. Writing poetry was also something Patsey enjoyed as well as writing thoughtful handwritten notes to family and friends of which she was well known. She also enjoyed country and western dancing at the Senior Citizens of Lubbock dances. During her life she was a member of the Christian Women’s Club and The Association of Country and Western Dancers.
Patsey was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a brother, Lyndon Jobe, and three granddaughters.
Survivors include daughter, Melanie Todd (John), of Lubbock; her son, Perry Bice (Kathrine), of Kansas; her son Leslie Bice (Cynthia), of Kansas; nine surviving grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Lubbock Meals-on-Wheels.
