Paul was born November 13, 1955 in Benton, Illinois. He graduated from Benton Consolidated High School and Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, where he played basketball and received a bachelor’s degree in education. After teaching/coaching one year in Alabama, Paul taught and coached in Levelland for 31 years.
Paul married LaQuita Strickland on March 22, 1985.
He was a member of Indiana Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife LaQuita, a son Jarod (Dana) Dinkins, of Bethel Acres, Oklahoma, and a daughter Lauren (Zack) Marr, of Bellingham, Washington and 5 grandchildren Kael, Kenedi, and Emarie Dinkins, and Tanner and Caleb Marr. He is also survived by a sister, Paula (Ira) Alters of West Frankfort, Illinois.
At Paul’s request, there will be no services. Memorials may be made to the Morris Safe House, 3240 Nightingale Road, Lubbock, Texas 79407 or a charity of your choice.
