

Pauline was born August 22, 1923 in Cameron, Texas to the parentage of Conway Baker Sr., and Mary L. Baker where she later moved to Amarillo, Texas. She relocated to Lubbock, Texas January 1970. After raising her four granddaughters Letha, Ursula, Monica, and Vera she decided to dedicate her life to becoming a foster parent for over 22 years. She was awarded Foster Parent of the Year. She was an active member at Bethel A.M.E. church until her health began to fail.
Pauline was preceded in death by her father Conway Baker Sr., mother Mary L. Baker, grandmother Mary M. Benford, uncle Johnny Benford, brother Charles Baker, brother George Ellison, daughter Edna Tipton-Collier, granddaughter Vera Tipton, sister Norma Thomas, brother Bennie Conway Baker, Jr., great granddaughter Patrice Tipton, and grandson Willie E. Tipton Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons Sammy Grant (Elsie), Charles Grant, two daughters Christina Grant (Bryan), Johanette Grant, four grandchildren Letha McGraw (Homer), Ursula Tipton, Monica Tipton, Floyd Collier Jr. (Tonshae), Three sisters, Gladys Thompson, Mary Brown, and Ovella Reed. She has 15 great grand kids, 20 great-great grand kids, and a host of nieces and nephews.
