Peter Greg Alman

Peter “Greg” Alman, 63, of Clovis/Melrose, New Mexico, died tragically with his cherished daughter, Megan Margene, 16, on July 15, 2026, following injuries sustained in a car accident the day before just outside of Melrose, New Mexico. He was born on August 11, 1962, in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada, the son of Dr. John E. Alman and Elizabeth Reherd Jones.

Greg was raised alongside his older brothers, Michael and Daniel, and younger sisters: Rhonda, Kira, Memery, Fathom, and Tesha. His early years were shaped by his father’s work as a large animal veterinarian that moved the family to places like Calgary, Alberta, Canyon, Texas and Marshalltown, Iowa, where Greg attended high school. Following high school, Greg moved to Anchor Point, Alaska, where he lived and worked until 2018. He then moved to Concho, Arizona, quickly followed by Clovis/Melrose, New Mexico.

Greg worked in many industries where he developed a broad range of skills and a strong work ethic. He was a “jack of all trades,” from farmhand to ship captain. His work and life experiences included lumber, mechanics, salmon fishing, and deep-sea crabbing in the waters of Alaska. He even appeared on an episode of “The Deadliest Catch”. Greg worked hard to be independent, indebted to no one.

Greg was married to Kim from 1996 to 2000. He was later married to Shannon from 2009 until 2018. Greg’s precious child, Megan Margene, was born in 2009. Greg’s life was dedicated to his daughter, Megan.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Dr. John E. Alman; his mother, Elizabeth Reherd Jones; his step-mother, Patricia B. Alman; his beloved daughter, Megan M. Alman.

He is survived by seven siblings: Mike (Debra) Alman, Daniel (Susan) Alman, Rhonda (Jim) Beyreis, Kira Klein, Memery Alman, Fathom (Eric) Page, and Tesha (Keith) Davey and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on August 10 at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Melrose, New Mexico for both Greg and Megan.
