Phyllis D. Perez

Phyllis completed high school and went onto nursing school were she obtained her LVN license. She then began her career in Long Beach, CA at Long Beach VA Hospital.  Upon moving to Texas Phyllis began her 54 year career at Highland Hospital (later Grace Hospital) in Lubbock, TX. Phyllis married Manuel Perez in 1956 and had four children: Ronald, Virginia, Sylvia, and Samuel.  She was a proud member of the Nursing Association and Arise Catholic Women's Group. 

She will always be remembered for her wit, compassion, caring nature and strength.  Funeral services will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock, TX on September 21, 2026 at 10 am.  Visitation will be Sunday September 20, 2026 from 2 to 6 pm with a rosary from 5 to 6 pm.  The family would like to thank the pallbearers for their service. 

She is preceded in death by her parents: Juan and Jesusita Perez; husband, Manuel Perez; daughter Virginia Perez Sanchez. Survivors are children Ronald, Sylvia, and Samuel. Sisters Margarita Guzman, Olivia Arredondo, Linda Silva, and brother, Alfred Diaz.  Spouses of siblings, grand children, great-grand children, nieces, and nephews are too numerous to name but loved just the same.

Her work here is finished. Her love remains. Her memory remains. And because she believed in Jesus Christ, we hold onto the hope this is not the end. She will be forever missed. Mi Tesoro.
