It has been a year since we lost Prentice, but he is always with us. It seems that we talk about him nearly every day. We truly miss our friend.

My father, Alton L. Bailey, is a cousin to Prentice. Mother (Madine Ayres Bailey) and Daddy live in Anthony, TX, and were very saddened to hear of the news. We last saw Prentice at a reunion in Paris, and each time we were together, I could sense the joy my father had in spending time with his very kind cousin. I know that Prentice is with the Lord now, and I  know he is having a great reunion with so many of his wonderful family already there and experiencing the unimaginable joy of seeing the Lord Jesus face to face. Heaven is surely a very precious and glorious place!

My husband and I were devastated when we heard that Prentice has passed away.  I always loved his quiet demeaner and he carried himself with such dignity and grace.  I loved watching you two dance together and I want you to know how deeply we will miss him. Prentice was a good friend and co-worker at Resthaven. However, we shared a closer bond. His uncle by birth was my uncle by marriage. So we shared family. I will truly miss my friend.

I lived across the alley from Prentice for four years and enjoyed having such a nice neighbor. And especiallly injoyed the 4th. of July yard oparties. Am truly saddended by your loss Shelia. Jack Kornegay

Prentice Bailey was a tremendous positive influence in my life.  I worked for him during high school at Furr's in Roswell, and again one summer in Lubbock during college.  Prentice lead by example, and was my role model for how I learned to work with and motivate people in my own career even today!

My junior year in high school, I managed the frozen food aisle, which meant two mornings a week arriving at the store at 4:30 AM.  Prentice would meet me there, take us to Denny's for coffee, and then we'd return to the store, where he would work in the office while I unloaded the delivery truck and stocked the shelves before school.

My condolences to Scott and Pam and all of the family, and I'll always remember how fortunate I am to haved known and worked with Prentice.

Prentice was always very special to me when I worked at Resthaven. I always felt that Prentice and the others were my family away from home. I know he will be missed by all that knew him and hope that all the wonderful things that have been written about Prentice will be some sort of comfort during this time.

Dearest Gayle and Nathan,  We are so sorry for the loss of your Dad.  Our hearts go out to you and your family. Prentice hired me for my first job years ago in Roswell at Furr's in the Broadmoor Shopping Center way back in 1967 when I was in High School.  I will always appreciate him for giving me that opportunity to prove myself as an employee and as a person.  I learned a lot from him of what it means and takes to be a leader and it helped me in my future work as a soldier and as an educator.  Sorry to hear about his passing. I was truly blessed and privilaged to know Prentice.  He was a fine gentleman, one after my own heart.  My sympathy to the family.  We all have lost a best friend.

Prentice was a dear friend and co-worker. He always took care of "his girls" with cokes, tea, banana pudding, and an assortment of other treats. He always kept a smile on our faces with his jokes and "off-color" sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by not only the staff at Resthaven, but also all who knew him. We love you, Prentice.

I had the privilage of knowing and working with Prentice, when he would come help us out at George Price F H in Levelland. He always had a smile for you,a story and or joke to tell. He made me laugh all the time, usually when I wasn't supposed to be. You could tell he loved his family and friends by the way he spoke of them often. I am glad he was my friend. I will miss him. My prayers are with you.
