

Services for Prentice Howard, Bailey, Sr., 77, of Lubbock, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Bailey and Rev. Aaron Denison officiating. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Friday, May 14 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Prentice passed away on Tuesday, May 11th.
Prentice Howard Bailey, Sr was born on September 15, 1932 in Blossom, Texas to the late Van and Emma (Ford) Bailey. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Prentice married Alene Loper, in 1956, in Hobbs, New Mexico; she preceded him in death in 1999. He married Sheila Wallace, in 1999, in Dallas, Texas.
Prentice was employed by Furr's Supermarket for 43 years.
He was preceded in death by sons, Kenneth Scott Bailey and Bradley Dale Bailey and a granddaughter, Jennifer Bailey.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sheila, son, Howard Bailey and wife Pam of Lubbock, daughter, Gayle Morris and husband, Nathan of New Home, step-daughter, Margie Estes and husband, Scott, of Lubbock step-son Randal Chesney of Austin, brother, Joe Bailey of Carrollton, sister, Carolyn White of Carlsbad, NM, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren and his loving companion, Pootie.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Haven Animal Shelter or to a charity of one’s choice.
