Ralph Wayne Nicol was born on November 5, 1932, in Longview, Texas, to George and Nellie Nicol. He entered eternal rest on February 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined by faith, service, and unwavering devotion to God.
In his early years, Ralph answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Navy, where he honorably served for four years. This period of his life helped shape the discipline, humility, and sense of responsibility that would characterize him throughout his lifetime.
Ralph was married to Juanita Nicol for 47 years. Together, they built a life grounded in love, faith, and commitment to God’s work. Their marriage stood as a testament to perseverance, partnership, and shared purpose, as they walked side by side through decades of ministry and family life.
Answering God’s calling, Ralph devoted more than 50 years to missionary work. His life was one of sacrifice and obedience, marked by a deep passion for spreading the Gospel and serving others wherever he was called. He gave freely of his time, strength, and heart, living not for himself, but fully for the work God placed before him. His ministry touched countless lives, many of whom were forever changed by his faith, kindness, and steadfast dedication. His favorite question to ask when first meeting someone was, “Do you know what you’re worth? You are worth the price that was paid for you at Calvary”.
Ralph was a loving and devoted father to his children: Ted, Ralph Jr., Patricia, Susan, George, Joseph, Daniel, Yoena, Roxana, and Teresa, who preceded him in death. He was also blessed with many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him great joy and pride. His love for his family was deep and enduring, and he sought to instill in them the same faith and values that guided his own life.
Those who knew Ralph will remember him as a faithful servant of God, a man of conviction and humility, and someone who lived what he believed. His life reflected a devout strength, a servant’s heart, and an unshakable trust in God’s plan. One of his favorite scriptures was, “the joy of the Lord is my strength” and he loved living that scripture out in his daily life. He shared joy and laughter everywhere he went and with everyone he met.
Ralph Wayne Nicol’s legacy will continue through his family, his ministry, and the many lives he touched over decades of faithful service. Though he has gone home to be with the Lord he so faithfully served, his example of faith and devotion will live on.
