

Ramona Corey Franco, born on May 23, 1933, in Thorndale, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026 at the age of 92 in her daughter and son in law's residence. She was preceded in death by her husband Guillermo L. Franco. She is the last of 5 sisters and brother.
She is survived by her children: Art Cuevas (Zelda), Alfred Cuevas, Elizabeth Leal Posey (Robert) and Hector Leal (Kelly), Grandchildren: Jason Cuevas (Jessica) & Chris Cuevas (Julie), Eric Posey (Mary Margaret), Ashley Leal, Hailey Leal Coleman (Boone), Christina Cuevas Emre (Dan), and great-grand- children: Anneliese Cuevas, Taylor Cuevas, Addison Cuevas, Harper Posey, Bowen Posey, Reese Coleman and Palmer Emre.
Ramona lived a life rooted in love, resilience, and devotion to her faith and family. Raised in Marlin, Texas, she carried the values of hard work, kindness, and family with her throughout her life. She was known for her faith, warm heart, steady strength, and the care she showed to those around her.
She moved to Lubbock, Texas, as a single mom of 2 and began her career as a seamstress, then in professional tailoring. She later retired with Maloufs. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy. She took pride in nurturing and supporting them through every stage of life. Whether through quiet acts of kindness, or words of encouragement, Ramona made those around her feel deeply loved and valued. Volunteering at church, gardening her roses and activities with her grandchildren filled her soul. Friendships were a treasure to her, and she found joy in sharing meals, heartfelt conversations, and especially talking about God. She loved to laugh, and her quick sense of humor could brighten any room. Gratitude was her daily rhythm — she lived with a thankful heart, always humming, always giving thanks for the blessings in her life.
Ramona (Grandma Mona) will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her enduring faith, and the lasting impact she had on everyone who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.
