

Ramona Ramirez went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 15, 2011. She passed away peacefully at home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday 1:00 p.m. July 18, 2011 at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with Pastor Tito Ortega officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens. Ramona was born on September 16, 1930 in Cameron, Texas to parents Ramon and Guadalupe Teran, who preceded her in death.
Ramona married Antonio Ramirez on July 10, 1947. They were happily married for 44 years until his death in July 1991. Ramona enjoyed cooking, baking, and serving the neighborhood kids. She loved watching her children and grandchildren play baseball and cheering them on.
Survivors include two sisters: Eva Alonzo & Lucinda Trevino, and two brothers: Bonnie and Ben Teran. She had seven children; Antonio Jr.(Sue) from Houston, Ricardo (Helen), Ramon (Erlinda), Daniel (JoAnn), Steven Ramirez (Maria), Patricia Mata (Tomas), all from Lubbock, and Marie St. Onge (Richard) from Round Rock, Texas. Ramona also had 24 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons Jaime Guzman, Christopher Ramirez, Anthony Ramirez, Lacy Ramirez, and Abel Mata and Daniel Ramirez Jr. The family would like to recognize Juan Trevino + as an honorable pallbearer.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to the Trevino family, Lucinda, Dora and Amelia and offer a special gratitude of love to the family of Belma and Victor Marquez and Eva Trevino, who loved and cared for her. The Lord sent you to help us with mom’s care and we will never forget the warmth and love you gave to her and the family. We are also grateful to the staff at Vista Care Hospice, who took care of her with so much love.
