Richard Bassinger

Richard was born January 24, 1941 in North Tonawanda, New York, to Ruth and Burton Bassinger. At age 18, Richard Joined the Air Force and was stationed at Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas, where he met and married Bonnie Arnold, who turned out to be his best friend and companion for over 50 years. Their union brought forth two children, Richard Dale and Laurie Lynn. Richard, built, owned and operated Bassinger Sandblasting Service Inc. which he operated for 32 years before retiring. His daughter and son-in-law now own the business making it grow in new directions of which Richard was very proud.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth in 2003 and Burton in 2004; his son Richard Dale Bassinger also preceded him in 2008. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Bonnie, daughter, Laurie Kleman and son-in-law Kenneth Kleman; six grandchildren, grandsons Trevor Miller, Nathan Bassinger, Brandon Bassinger, Brock Kleman and Bryant Kleman, granddaughter Kristin Miller; two great grandchildren, Gage Bassinger and Lyle Bassinger.

Visitation will be Monday June 4, 2012 in Resthaven Funeral Home from 7 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 5 at 2 PM in Bethany Baptist Church with Brother Aaron Denson officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. The Pall Bearers will be his grandsons and Garry Ozbirn.
