

The family of Richard "Dick" Walls will celebrate his life of 76 years at 10:00 am on Monday, August 17, 2020, at First Church of the Nazarene - Lubbock. The family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, August 16, 2020, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. He passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. The service will be live-streamed and be available for thirty days on this page. You are encouraged to sign the virtual guestbook and share memories and expressions of sympathy by selecting the icon.Dick was born on May 11, 1944, to Douglas and Marie Walls in Millinocket, Maine, the third of four children. He graduated from Stearns High School. Dick married Donna Lynne Roix on September 18, 1965. He and Donna had two children, Kymberley and Steven. Dick was involved in church ministry as a youth pastor and Sunday School teacher for many years. His first career was in insurance sales and investments in Maine and Texas. Dick relocated to Lubbock, Texas, in 1991. After Donna's passing in 2012, Dick met and married Beth Ellen Rucker on January 25, 2014.Dick traveled all over the U.S. in ministry with Donna, and later with Beth, for the last 15 years spreading a message of God's faithfulness, perseverance, and hope. His years in full-time ministry were truly his life's passion. In his last days, Dick made it very clear to family and friends by telling all several times, "I have punched my ticket" and was so very excited about going "home." Dick loved the Lord, loved people, loved telling people about Jesus, was a devoted family man, and never met a stranger. His special talent was storytelling and making people laugh. He was a life-long die-hard Boston Celtics, Red Sox and Patriots fan.Survivors include wife, Beth Ellen Walls; daughter, Kymberley Maddox and husband, Bruce; son, Steven Walls and wife, Kayla; grandchildren, Luke Adam Maddox, Casey Steven Walls; and Kelbey Danielle Walls; brother, Robert Walls and wife, Michaelyn; and sister, Donna Walls Carlstrom and husband, Jerry.He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Donna Walls; and sister, Gwendolyn Stevenson.
