Ricky May's family will celebrate his life of 51 years at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at the Monterey Church of Christ. He passed on Monday, March 22, 2021. We invite you to view the live-streamed service on this page if you are unable to attend in person, sign his virtual guestbook, and download his memorial keepsake folder to your device for printing. On November 6, 1969, Ricky Wesley was born to Wendell and Beverly May in Lubbock, Texas. He married Courtney Carpenter on June 26, 2005, in Lubbock, Texas.Ricky loved hard. He loved his wife, his insanely talented children, his nine foster babies, his Miami Hurricanes, BBQ (like wait-in-line-for-three-hours-below-freezing kind of love), shorts, cold days, and his friends and family. He was always up for a road trip – even when it meant leaving his wife home with three babies under 20 months to celebrate his 40th birthday. Ricky hated fix-it lists, wearing long pants, the CPS "system," bad football refs, Cheeze-Its, veggies, and being called grandpa. His coworkers referred to him as the "silent assassin" because he rarely had much to say. Just got it, did the work, and did it well. For similar reasons, he was also known as the "laundry ninja."He is survived by his wife, Courtney, his talented baker daughter Layne, his golf-loving son, Jackson, his homerun hitting son Carson, his precious "daddy's girl" Finley Grace, his mother Beverley, big brother Robert, little brother Roger, and little sister Jaime. You can bet Ricky is cheering on his Miami Hurricanes, watching every future game from the best suite seating only heaven can provide.Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Wendell May.
