Robert G. Wyrick

Robert Glen Wyrick passed from this life on January 19, 2022 at the age of 87. He was born on September 21,1934 in Wichita Falls, TX. He attended Abilene Christian College where he met Pearlie Johnson in the "Beanery" (Cafeteria) where they both worked. He transferred to The University of Oklahoma where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. He worked for Diamond Shamrock/Valero for 35 years as a Chemical Engineer. They raised their family in Dumas, Texas from 1962-2013 before moving to Lubbock, Texas. Pearlie and Bob were very involved with the First Street Church of Christ and the community. He loved his family, children, serving others, and most importantly, he loved God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearlie, and parents, Burt and Pauline Wyrick. He is survived by daughter, Jana Robertson (husband Chris) of Columbia, Tennessee, daughter Carla Shelton (husband Jerry) of Lubbock, TX, son, Robert Wade Wyrick of Houston, TX, grandchildren, Jerrod Shelton (wife Eden), Carly Shelton, Alex Robertson (wife Sydney), and Connor Robertson (wife Sydney). He had five great grandchildren, Reid and Josephine Robertson, Peyton and Carson Rosenblatt, and Maddox Shelton. He is also survived by one brother, Jim Wyrick and one sister, Wanda Purswell.
